Boracay travel guide: choosing the right station and pace
Boracay is compact, but where you stay changes the feel of the trip. Use this guide to choose between the three White Beach stations, plan activities and avoid overbooking your days.
Boracay is easy to picture before you arrive: white sand, clear water and a long sunset at the end of the day. What is less obvious is how much the trip changes depending on where you stay.
Station 1, 2 or 3?
Station 1 suits travelers who want a quieter stretch of White Beach and are comfortable paying more for location. Station 2 puts you close to D'Mall, restaurants, shops and evening activity. Station 3 feels more relaxed and often gives you better value.
Do not fill every day
Boracay has paraw sailing, diving, snorkeling, parasailing and other water activities, but the beach itself is a reason to leave part of the day open. Puka Beach gives you a change of scenery, while Bulabog Beach has a different character and is closely associated with wind-powered water sports.
Plan the arrival properly
Most visitors arrive through Caticlan or Kalibo and still need a land-and-boat transfer before reaching the island. Keep that extra travel in mind when choosing flight times. The drier period from roughly November through May is popular for beach-focused trips, with Christmas, New Year and Holy Week especially busy.
